Robert Knappe was born 1537 in Barking, Suffolk, England and died 24 September 1617 in Wetheringsett, Suffolk, England.

He married Margaret Poley. She was born about 1531 in Badley, Suffolk, England. She was the daughter of Edmund Poley and Mirabelle Garneys.
